Queen for the Day: Montezuma’s Chocolate Founder – Helen Pattinson

Who doesn’t love chocolate? I can’t believe even the Duchess of Cambridge doesn’t indulge in a sneaky few bits of the dark stuff in private. But I’m pretty sure she doesn’t go for ANY old chocolate. In the early days of Right Royal Mother (spring) I was lucky enough to be asked to review the new range of Kingdom chocolate from my favourite EVER brand, Montezuma‘s.

Founder, Helen Pattinson, is one of the most lovely, inspiring women (and mothers – she has three children) I’ve chatted to and her replies to this month’s ‘Queen for the Day’ questions made me chuckle. I hope you enjoy them as much as the delicious chocolate she has created, nurtured and brought up so very nicely…

What would you do if you were queen for 24 hours?

Go undercover and see how my subjects really live – do the school run, unload the dishwasher and then pay a visit to Primark to see what all the fuss is about.

Who would you make time to see?

I would catch up with the Dalai Lama for a cup of tea and put the world to rights.

Putting the world to rights. Surely chocolate helps.

What, and where would you eat and with whom?

I would eat at Buckingham palace and invite all my neighbours in for tea and cake.

Where would you visit?

Where I always go when I get a chance to sneak away – to the Tower to see my jewels.  It’s an excellent day out!

What would you make a speech about?

World peace and chocolate (they are inextricably linked).

Peanut butter

Helen’s Kingdom is pretty delicious.

What would you wear?

Jeans, trainers and a hoody, because I can and I never have and it looks so comfortable.

What would be your greatest indulgence?

Sparkling English wine for breakfast.  And probably with lunch and tea too.

And finally, what new law would you introduce?

Positivity would be compulsory at all times. Just imagine what we could achieve if we were all willing to think positively about everything!

Great post! Provided a much needed chuckle on a monday morning. And suddenly I’m really craving a bar of delicious chocolate … and a glass of wine. Think the wine may have to wait given its not even 11am but I’m off to hide behind the fridge door and sneak the kids stash while they’re not looking!

Haha this is brilliant! I am loving the image of the queen looking through the novelty underwear in Primark. Perhaps she’d enjoy a pug onesie?! That chocolate looks and sounds seriously good. #fartglitter

Oh she sounds brilliant. I love that if she was Queen for the day that she would go and visit Primarnie for the day 🙂 #chucklemums

Hooray for Montezumas – they should be given the HRH stamp of approval, or some sort of Duchy accolade. I have a very long winded story about the recipe of Bean Machine but I won’t bore you with it now, you’re a busy lady! Loved reading this for #chucklemums xx

Have I replied to you? I’m not sure now (sorry, two glasses of wine down) but if not THANK YOU and I definitely, DEFINITELY want the story about the recipe of Bean Machine, long winded or not!

I’m now craving dark chocolate infused with orange (no less) failing that a Terry’s choice orange might just do it. Great reading #chucklemums

Whoa that chocolate looks a bit special! And you now have me thinking about the range of cakes that must be available to HRH at Buckingham Palace. I think I might fancy doing a bit of Queen stuff for a few days now… Thanks for linking with #fartglitter lovely x

Fab answers, and the chocolate sounds utterly delicious (but then, it is chocolate). I’m pretty sure Kate indulges in a sneaky bar away from the kids every now & then. Thanks for linking up to #MarvMondays. Kaye xo

Yep, pretty sure too. Who can resist chocolate, for goodness’ sake? Thanks for your comment 🙂

Great post and what a great set of questions! Very good answers although I think if I was Queen for the day I’d have to have someone else empty the dishwasher! 🙂 #fartglitter
